Angel in a Cupboard

I was only five

years old when I saw

an angel in a

cupboard. Told her to

leave me be, like I

do with all that is

special. She was wet

and translucent and

swirled around like a

pint of milk. We had

no money, I slept

on an airbed, I

wonder what she thought

of that? Sometimes I

think of her at night

when it’s cold and I

want someone to love me.
