Branwell

To Branwell,

Oh brother of mine, when will you come back home? Walk through the front door, with your key still in hand. Waving out small hellos in the cradle of your heavy palm, discarding all which lays heavy against your shoulders.

Will you return with warm smiles and rolling laughter? To swim instead of sinking, wading in the bottom of your drinking. Left to sleep in crowded rooms, as we gave away all we had to stop the flood.

Can we go back to before? When in words we once shared an artful code. To bethe dreamers we once were, artists left to roam. Once full of wonder, now left to sift through the endless grey.

Our golden boy, once so carefree, with so much to love to give. Now lost inside the shades of your favourite smoke. All that once was, now left wasted. Who shall be remembered but your sisters, when you have erased all that you painted.

Branwell, when are you coming home?
