Let Me Drift

Do not mind me—I’m slipping back to the tide,

Shedding my weight, the fears I hide.

Do not mind me—I’m salt-bound and free,

Cradled by currents, where I’m meant to be.

This is not yours to understand,

As I twirl like foam with an open hand.

A flick of a tail, a shimmer, a gleam—

I vanish inside the ocean’s dream.

I am not lost, I am going home,

To coral halls and silver foam.

Let me go, just let me be—

Don’t mind me, I’m returning to the sea.
