Luck
Dropped my toast again a second ago. Third sodding time this week. Like I needed that.
Dan left Monday. Good riddance, apart from the part where the rent's in my name.
Tuesday, first toast.
Wednesday, three days left of the month, and £7.52 left on the lecky.
Thursday, more toast. Which, like talk, is cheap.
Today, the last toast. The last slice of bread. The last straw.
But this time it landed inexplicably, unequivocally face up – banana chunks still perched
perkily atop the gorgeously gloopy pb-and-syrup combo, not even a single sticky streak
sliding overboard.
Yay – my lucky day!
